Mr Shankarappa graduated from the Bangalore Medical College, India. After completing his higher orthopaedic training, he was appointed as associate professor at the prestigious St John’s Medical College in Bangalore. After moving to the UK, Mr Shankarappa undertook higher orthopaedic training in the Bristol and South West region and was awarded the Khazenifar Gold Medal for the best performance at the M Ch Ortho exam in 1999. Mr Shankarappa has over 12 years’ consultant level experience in the UK and during this time has completed further sub specialty training in Germany and Canada in advanced aspects of articular and periarticular trauma management, and in aspects of hip and knee surgery. Mr Shakarappa’s special interests include lower limb arthroplasty, revision and joint reconstruction, hip and knee and foot and ankle surgery and sports injuries.
